AWARDS & EXHIBITIONS

John has a string of awards for conservation, history and computer vision research.  He recently had a solo exhibition at Dovetails Gallery, Ilfracombe and has previously exhibited at South Square Gallery in Bradford and at Wiggins Teape paper store in Covent Garden.

 

 
                 
 

AWARDS

1983 : Art travel bursary to visit the Alhambra Palace, Granada, Spain.
1986 : BIS Award to study the feasibility of automatic non-contact 3-D digitising.
1990 : RIG Award to develop a prototype 3-D Mould Inspector (for glass bottle moulds).
1992 : DTI SMART Stage I Award to develop a generic 3-D vision probe.
1994 : DTI SMART Stage II Award to develop a generic 3-D vision probe.
1995 : Winner of Yorkshire Innovation Competition (for 3-D probe).
1996 : RIG Award to develop Transputer software for image processing.
2001 : Millennium Award to write website “A History of Hele”.
2004 : Conservation Award, Barnstaple & District Civic Society (for history website).
