A HISTORY OF HELE

This history of Hele, a small village just outside Ilfracombe in North Devon, is dedicated to the memory of Anthony Charles Galliver (1941-2006) who loved Hele Bay and had the very rare gift of living in the present.

This site was written by John Moore in 2002 and 2003 with the help of a Millennium Award and it won the 'Heritage' Conservation Award from Barnstaple and District Civic Society in 2004.  John is a contemporary artist click here to visit his web site.
