CUBES & FISHES - 1984/2005 |
||||||||||
Acrylic paint on 160 lb paper, image size 45 x 43 cm, available framed in plain silver coloured metal frame (overall size 61 x 51 cm) - limited edition giclée prints also available in A2 size. It is remarkable how much complexity arises from the application of simple rules. This non-repeating pattern is derived from a semi-regular tessellation of squares and triangles - by simply replacing each line with a triangle, a simple repeating pattern becomes a much more interesting irregular tessellation of cubes and fishes. The basic pattern was designed on a computer, printed out and copied onto tracing paper, traced onto thick watercolour paper and then painted with Liquitex artist-quality acrylics using square-tipped brushes. < Back to Pillars of Wisdom Or choose another gallery below.
