DIGITEYES 1990 - 1997 My PhD research resulted in a new technique for 3-D digitising using a camera and projector. Although this could determine the 3-D shape of an object's surface totally automatically, it was restricted to objects with simple surface shapes (i.e. where all the image points on the object surface are connected) and so I developed another technique, using two projectors, that could determine the 3-D coordinate of any image point on the object entirely independently. The commercial development of this technology, from a 1/4 ton of precision equipment to a probe head weighing less than 2 Kg, is shown in the pictures above. < Back to Early Works Or select another gallery below.
