THE EARTH FALLS INTO THE

SUN - 1983/2005

Acrylic paint on 120 lb Saunders paper, image size 71 x 51.5 cm, available framed in plain silver coloured metal (on wood) frame (overall size 95 x 76 cm).

These two 'cubefields' appear to be different objects - yet they are identical except for their orientation. This demonstrates how edges are more important to us than shading. Named after the restaurant at the end of the universe in the 'Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy'.

The basic pattern was designed and drawn on tracing paper, traced onto thick watercolour paper and then painted with Liquitex artist-quality acrylics using square-tipped brushes.
