PAINTING - 2006
Acrylic paint and collage on black mounting card, image size 92.75 x 69 cm, available framed in plain painted silver frame (overall size 104 x 81 cm).
I couldn't resist making a painting about painting for a painting competition with the title "JOHN MOORE'S PAINTING FOR JOHN MOORE'S PAINTING COMPETITION". I still can't see why it wasn't short listed....
Most of my ideas are worked out in detail beforehand and the painting holds up as an 'experimental record' but this was a completely different direction for me and took a long time to paint due to repeated re-working. Perhaps its true that comedy is more difficult than drama or documentary.
